IMG_0164

This year WWE brought Wrestlemania 29 to Met Life stadium in New Jersey. While the show was a little predictable, the rabid New York/New Jersey crowd’s enthusiasm made the show a fun experience. Whether rocking out to WWE entrance music during the tailgate, or dueling chants of “Let’s go Cena” against “Cena Sucks,” the fans enjoyed themselves, which in the end is all that matters. To find out what happened and see some birds-eye photos, scroll down.

Spring Cleaning 101: What to do and why you need to do it

Tis the season for spring cleaning! Even though doing chores may seem tedious and time consuming, go into your spring cleaning this year with a positive mindset. Keeping a clean house has been studied time and time again and researchers have found that not only does a clean house benefit your physical health, it also benefits your mind. Consider these advantages that come from just a bit of elbow grease:

Mindfulness: The act of organizing and ridding your personal space of clutter can be a form of meditation. You see what you need and what you don’t need in your life and (instant gratification) you toss it out. Putting your papers, books, clothes, and other odds and ends where you want them gives a sense of control and clarity.

Get Fit: Pushing a heavy Hoover vacuum cleaner may tone your arms. Scrubbing the bathtub can get your heart pumping and release endorphines. Carrying a basket of laundry up the stairs can help tone your legs…just think, you can have a toned body and a clean place.

Music Therapy: Not up on the latest buzz bands? While you clean, turn on your favorite playlist, Pandora station, or just listen to latest releases on Hypem. Bump up your speakers and jam out to all the songs you’ve missed. Music helps you move faster and can help cut cleaning time down.

Roy Neuberger: Bohemian, Financier, and Art Patron

Neuberger (1903-2010, aged 107) lived in NYC for 101 years and he was an extremely important patron to the arts. Having been orphaned at a young age, Roy had to find his way in the world. In his 20s, he spent time living in Paris, wandering throughout museums and making friends in the art world.

He found his success when he “drew on youthful passions for stock trading and art to build one of Wall Street’s most venerable partnerships (Neuberger Berman) and one of the country’s largest private collections of 20th-century masterpieces,” (NYT).

Here are Roy Neuberger’s “Rules for Investing”:

Be flexible. It is imperative that you be willing to change your thoughts to meet new conditions.

Take your temperament into account. Recognize whether you are by nature very speculative or just the opposite.

Be broad-gauged. Diversify your investments, make sure that some of your principal is kept safe, and try to increase your income as well as your capital.

Always remember that there are many ways to skin a cat. Each [great investor] has been successful in his own way.

Be skeptical. To repeat a few well-worn useful phrases: Dig for yourself. Be from Missouri. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
